my roomie's story

'You know what Rachel did today'.....the phrase with which my roomie,Anna, always starts her bedtime conversations with me.

My old roommate left me and the ol room saying nothing. So I shifted to a new room,just before the commencement of my final yr. I was single and the school management said that they will find me a new roommate soon. I never thought 'soon' meant the very next day as the next day after a sleepy morning lecture I came back to my room to collect the materials of the following lab. As I approached the door I found the lock open and I immediately realized that 'soon' came . I entered the room in a bit caution and I found this beautiful girl standing near the window. Her name is Anna. She been here from far east.

Now something about Anna first.
She is new to the coll and so, horribly home sick.She is one hell of a puritan and annoyingly punctual. She is a soft speaker and total humanitarian.She is from a different batch and had their campus at a different place so i never saw her sleeping in a lecture hall. She had afternoon and evening sessions and I had morning and afternoon sessions. The only I can talk to her is during nights. One thing I noticed about her is that she does behave arrogant sometimes and keeps using my things with out permission starting from my bucket to clothes.

This blog isn't about her but about her friend,Rachel, who is in the same class as that of her.It is a list of the conversations we had about Rachel almost every night.

Rachel,as Anna says, as one of the extravagantly eye catching person not only from her looks but also from her confidence in speech full of believable lies.She loved fooling people and laugh behind their backs. Anna always wondered why such a person of her capability haven't joined in politics yet.

Day one,
I remember Anna saying that Rachel dragged her away to the lecture hall, which is supposedly to start an hour later, just after a day of their commencement of new academic year.

Day two,
'u know what!!......Rachel complained to the professor about his own bad teaching skills in front of the half-sleeping class'.

Day three,
Rachel smooched a guy,who is going out with Clare.

Day four,
'She declared herself as the head of their team and made rest of the others do the assignment and when they failed to do it in time she went and complained to the professor saying that her team consisted nothing but lazy bums who doesn't want to cooperate with their hard-working leader'.

Day five,
She made the TA give her full credits for a partially right answer.

By weekend, she is the institution among my friends Lisa, Emma and Sharone as I tell them about Rachel during lunch hours. Lisa is being Rachel when she bunked her lab but made me mark her attendance. Sharone did a Rachel when she copied quizz questions right in front of the professor;even me,I was being Rachel When I copied the code and modified it to look like a genuine self made one. We made a resolved to meet this Rachel this weekend. So I asked my roomie if she could invite this friend of hers to a small gathering party in the college canteen.
But she replied that Rachel's house is in the next town and she already left for it as it was a weekend.Though we were disappointed we all longed to meet her.

Days passed and our conversations of Rachel became more complicated and less frequent as Anna is busy with hectic group projects and came home at late hours. But I remember her saying some times that Rachel dumped two guys as she found out that were noobs.
'She made a boy to get almost expelled from the collage', Anna told me during a night. 'Why ?' I enquired. 'He made some comment about her and she complained to the disciplinary committee and made the guy to write a legal paper document making him liable for future harassment'.

During the third week Anna came to room randomly and said that she had an exam tomorrow and she is having a group study at their friends house. But she came home in the early hours and I noticed with my sleepy eyes that she was exhausted and she had some faint makeup all over her face. That evening I asked Anna about her exam. She said she managed well as she studied all the night and added that Rachel had been partying till dawn.

After this incident,we rarely talked and during the fifth week, Anna left the room for a new one in a new dorm far from ours with a girl named Clare who was in the same year as hers. Lisa moved to stay with me.

After a few days I noticed that two of my tops and a sweat shirt missing from my closet. Anna's campus had this big library.So I thought I cud get two birds from a single trip. So I called Anna and arranged a meeting in her campus at five at the stundet union building.

I got at her campus a little early so I went to the student records room to have a look at Rachel since I longed to see the face of the most rumored girl of campus. I asked the help desk person to search for a girl named Rachel studying in the same class as Anna. But to my wonder no results turned up. I made him search in other courses but a girl named 'Rachel willow' haven't showed up in the database. Bewildered,I left the room and headed to the lobby where I met Clare, whom Anna is presently living with.

I exchanged a smile and said 'Howz Anna doin now a days?'Her face suddenly dropped ,' How she be not doing well, she is so popular after all'. Those words from Clare had a sarcastic ring to them so din't push them far and I asked about Rachel. 'Who is Rachel?' she replied back in surprise. Confused I quoted some of the conversations to her I heard from Anna. She laughed and said "Anna was the girl who smooched my guy".
